ABOUT US
After many years of cooking in restaurants and bakeries in Portland, native Mainers Christine and Christian Hayes launched Dandelion Catering in 2008 in the pursuit of creating a kitchen and company that housed their values and their work ethic. The full service catering operation's home base resides in the historic Sparhawk Mill in Yarmouth, Maine.
In 2019, they opened their restaurant, The Garrison, within the same brick walls of the landmark mill. The intimate dining room and bar sits on the banks of the rushing Royal River, next to the restaurant's garden of fresh herbs and produce.
2020 brought devastation to the hospitality industry in the form of a global pandemic, and in the ultimate of pivots, the Hayes' opened their fast-food inspired takeout restaurant, Thoroughfare, in the Andy's Handy Store, a town fixture since 1935.
Their updated corner store and market, Dandy's Handy Store, is set to open in 2021.
